その典型例が、フランス・パリで警官に射殺されたナヘル・メルズク事件だ。被害者の少年に似た別人（スペインのラッパー）の画像が「犯人」として拡散され、過去の映像が文脈を外れて使われた。犯罪歴のない彼が「危険な移民」として描かれ、暴動と報復感情が都市を覆った。
偽情報はここでも、都市空間の分断を深める触媒となっている。
